Shimoda is a serene town located on the south-eastern coast of the Izu-peninsula.It’s mainly known for its lovely beaches and coastline, the most famous of it being the Shirahama beach literally meaning the white-sand beach. This was a very special trip as hubby planned this as a surprise and that too just before his birthday ! 🙂 🙂 We reached Shimoda by evening and it was already dark when we reached the Prince Hotel and after settling the formalities we ventured out towards the beach area…yes the hotel has its own private beach !
With everything being dark,we could only hear the waves crashing somewhere close, really close but we decided not to go out and wait till the dawn breaks. And when that happened we were simply taken aback to see the green waters lapping the shore just in front of our room .
We were up well in advance to enjoy the sunrise and these tempting views from our room made us jump to our feet straight away as we clutched our camera and rushed outside. And there with the cool morning breeze…the refreshing sea….and the mesmerizing hues of the dawn-breaking sky…we eagerly captured as many moments as we could….
Then as it was forecasted to be a cloudy drizzly day we decided to head over to the famous floating aquarium to meet our friends 🙂 🙂
After meeting these colorful and playful friends,we headed over for a short cruise on a black perry ship.
And then we took a leisurely walk back to the hotel with a few interesting shots in between…
We then spent the whole evening relaxing at the lovely beach drinking in every puff of the fresh sea air and basking in the changing colors of the azure blue sky….merging seamlessly into the horizon.. 🙂 🙂
