Yesterday,we had been to the 2 day Indian Festival held every year in september,here in Tokyo.By the time we reached the venue near to Yoyogi Park,the event was already in full swing.The entrance was marked by Incredible India archs n Lord Ganapati.

And what we saw next melted our hearts away straight back home…n felt to the core,true to His name..He is Jagata ra Natha..Sri Jagannatha !!!

It was as if He has come all the way from home, across seas..just for us..to assure us…that even in this foreign land,we are not alone..that the whole mankind believes in faith, in goodness, in one God !!..A point in belief where the form melts away in prayers n hope n faith..

Further inside there were many stalls…selling traditional Indian clothings,jewellery,trinkets n artifact,calling cards,spices etc.On one side it was a complete Food Mela…which dozens of stalls for all kinds of Indian food- Chole bhature to Dosas…PaniPuris to kebabs…sweets,lassis…all that one can think of at quite reasonable prices.The whole atmosphere was bustling with Japanese n Hindi !!

Now here, how many japanese do u see?? They just love Indian food !! so do we 😉

Various cultural programmes including Odissi and Bharatnatyam dances were being staged too..

It was just like the festive fairs or mela back home.We enjoyed it thoroughly…basking in our homeland’s glory,food and culture.On our way back we went to the nearby Yoyogi Koen(read park 😉 ) ..its a very big n serene park..Japanese have a graceful elegant way about their landscaping n gardens..

After enjoying the cool breeze and some balloon turned flowers n animals,we started ambling towards the station.On way,we saw some kind of traditional festival going on,with a small procession and chantings  in front of the famous Meiji Jingu Shrine..

From there on we went to Shinjuku and did some Birthday shopping for my Darling before heading back home 🙂 🙂
